Robbing a Dollar General isn’t exactly a big pay-day. That’s why Strange Music’s (Tech N9ne’s label) Stevie Stone and Yelawolf run up in the jewelry store next door in their new video. Great cinematography and song. That chorus will probably be stuck in my head for the remainder of the day too. Classic Yela on the chorus for sure. It was hook’s for Jim Jonsin like this that gave Yelawolf a name for himself. See: I Run.
Catfish Billy gives us an update on a number of projects he has in the works. Mixtapes, LPs and albums that collaborate with the likes of Big K.R.I.T, Travis Barker and Rittz are in store for 2012. What will we actually get? Who knows…
This is some fucked up shit. Yelawolf should have cut this after the music was over. Not on America’s birthday man that’s fucked up.

The most idiotic beef in hip-hop goes to one guy who can rap with just about anyone (Yelawolf) and another who can rap with just about no one (MGK). Time for some diss tracks fellas.
“You have to have a lot of pain before you can be culturally impactful, once you share your story that’s the difference between a rapper and a superstar Yelawolf.”
If there is an artist who feels his music, who also doesn’t overplay his story and hides his background from the limelight it’s this guy. His lyrics and sentiment come from a place that most rap fans can’t relate. It is a different type of place than your typical New York City, LA hardship story.

Yelawolf hasn’t released any new music lately. So you know what that means? Time for another tour! Here he goes for almost 50 dates all across the country. Be sure to check it out. Yela puts on some of the best live shows in the country. Dates and venues are below. Oh and he’s bringing the most underrated rapper from Alabama with him…

Two of the most unconventional, quick tongued and hipster appealing rappers got the pleasure of opening Bonnaroo last night in Tennessee. The crowd seemed to be a lot more receptive to the talents of Yelawolf while Danny Brown’s Pitchfork rearing single, “Grown Up” was not as celebrated.

Yelawolf still does not have a release date for his sophomore album, Love Story. Maybe it’s because he’s been in the lab with Travis Barker. Creatively, this project has to be on a completely different level than what Yelawolf is used to making with the Shady team. I guess you could say this is for the true Yelawolf fans; the one’s that don’t care about album sales, raido play or the big bucks. Props to Yela for making music he wanted to make rather than what the label wants from him.
“Every time we would get in the lab we’d knock something out. We just collaborated and… had a meeting of the minds. There’s a lot of cool stuff we came up with.” The EP also includes a guest appearance by Rancid’s Tim Armstrong, Barker’s bandmate in Transplants, on a “punk-reggae” track called “Can’t Push Us Around”. I don’t know Travis’ situation fully, the legals of it, whether it’s going to be free or sold or whatever. It’ll be available. As artists, hopefully we can get it on the shelves, but we’ll get it out there somehow. I’m just hyped for people to hear it.” -Yelawolf

The good folks at Slumerican must be pretty hyped after their Alabama Crimson Tide won the National Championship this past Monday. In honor of their Tide, they realized this cut. Unfortunately, there’s no Dre Kirkpatrick mention.
