So Weezer set out to play the premiere show of their “Blinkerton” (The Blue Album+Pinkerton) and in Hollywood and there were guest appearances galore.  First there was Jorge Garcia, whose headshot was featured on the cover of Weezer’s last album Memories, came out to lay some vocals on “Perfect Situation” and as you can see below, he does a pretty good job.

Next up was Gerard Way and the rest of My Chemical Romance.  Now I can’t say I’m a big fan of there’s, but if there was ever a Weezer track I’d like to see them on, it would have to be “My Name Is Jonas” off Weezer(The Blue Album). Anyways check it for yourself.

Well, this is it, the top ten Rock songs of the 90′s. I am honestly happy to finally be posting this because I change my mind on the order of the final ten everyday. So sit back, and enjoy the best Rock songs of the 90′s.

As a side note, here is a link to Pitchfork top twenty songs of the 90′s (they did a top 200, so if you are feeling brave, check out the rest of it). Make of that what you will.

Way back when, I wrote a post about the possibility Weezer “sticking it to the man” and going to on tour playing only songs from Weezer(The Blue Album) and Pinkerton.  Well as it turns out, Rivers Cuomo decided to actually follow through on this and in turn, announced the start of this tour…1 day before it started.  If you check out the dates before, you can see that the first date for this noticeably short tour is tonight, at none other  than the dreadful disease infested grouping of young adults that some people like to call Ohio State University.  Anyways, check out the schedule and see if you’re lucky enough to be in one of mere 6 cities theyre visiting.  And if you are, wel then…I’m jealous.

09-24 Columbus, OH – Ohio State University
09-25 Peoria, IL – Bradley University
10-01 Las Vegas, NV – Mirage Hotel and Casino
10-29 New Orleans, LA – Voodoo Festival
10-30 Atlanta, GA - Chastain Park Amphitheatre
11-26 Los Angeles, CA – Gibson Amphitheatre (Memories Tour)
11-27 Los Angeles, CA – Gibson Amphitheatre (Memories Tour)
11-29 San Francisco, CA – Nob Hill Masonic Center (Memories Tour)

Yup, you read that right.  Everyone’s favorite (well after their last album, we’ll say top 10) nerdy rockers have spread rumors of a tour that would feature only songs from Weezer (The Blue Album) and Pinkerton, undoubtedly the 2 best albums by Rivers Cuomo and Co.  This would certainly be a huge step on the road that has been taken by the now Indie Label (Their new album Hurley-inspired by the Lost Character will be released on Epitaph) band whose last album, Raditude, took a noticeable turn for the mainstream with singles like “Cant Stop Partying”.  Anyways, Im excited simply by the idea of this tour as Pitchfork calls it “A chance to see the band live without having to hear Hash Pipe.”  Amen to that.
