We’ve got 70 for you this time; the best of the best hip hop tracks from the past two months. Pretty damn extensive list, but if you think I missed any let me or dharis know on twitter (@dflanz, @AllMyHeadMusic). Download links for most; other ones you can listen to on youtube or buy.

1. HiiiPoWer – Kendrick Lamar

- I can’t even imagine what beats J. Cole is saving for himself if he’s giving away ones like this, and this. Along with Cole, Kendrick is right up there as one of the best young rappers in the game. This might be the best song he’s dropped to date.

2. I’m On One (Featuring Drake, Rick Ross & Lil’ Wayne) – DJ Khaled

- Already beginning to be played out on the radio, but there’s no denial that this song is a jam. Love that Drake is sticking with the producers that have always brought out the best in him (40), contrary to what Wiz Khalifa has turned to (Stargate tracks over Johnny Juliano on Rolling Papers???).

3. When We’re Done – XV

- Zero Heroes is my favorite mixtape of the year so far, hands down. Truly great songs top to bottom; this one’s my favorite along with “Smallville”.

4. Oh My (Featuring Fabolous, Wiz Khalifa & Roscoe Dash) – DJ Drama

- Roscoe completely steals this show as he outshines mediocre verses from both Fab & Wiz. Despite an abundance of corny lines, “Oh My” bumps harder than any other song that dropped in the past 2 months. Click the link to watch the extremely dope video.

5. Tron Cat – Tyler, The Creator

- The best song on Goblin. Tyler spits for four minutes showing off some impressive rhyme schemes over a pounding, twisted beat he made himself.

Versions of Black and Yellow on my iTunes:
1. Wiz Khalifa (Original)
2. JD Era
3. Donnis
4. Wale (Mike Tomlin)
5. Tyga
6. 16th Seed f. Jazz Cartier (AllinMyHeadNEXT) and Topaz Jones

So for me to hear that Crooked I of Slaughterhouse went in over this beat for his Hip-Hop Weakly series is of no surprise. Download the 7th version of Black and Yellow below.

Although it was released over a day ago, I finally just got a chance to listen to Donnis’ first official EP. Available only on Datpiff.com and through iTunes, the EP, which has the length of an LP is much different than what I expected. After listening to his first mixtape “Diary of an ATL Brave”, I gave Donnis a lot of credit for his production and his rhymes. However, after listening to “Fashionably Late” over the past day, I realized that Donnis is not that great of a rapper.

While his production of this EP is dope, his rhymes just aren’t up to par. Yet, there are a few songs that are worth checking out because of their samples. Notice the Rihanna sample on “Yup” and the Ludacris sample on “Folk Tales“. These are probably the best songs on what seems to be an irritating and annoying EP to listen to. I had high hopes for Donnis. Quite frankly, I thought he’d be the next big thing to come out of Atlanta. Looks like “Fashionably Late” was just a set back.
