This was fucking obvious. Clearly he was going to fucking sign to Def Jam if he was already apart of one of their umbrella labels. Isn’t it practically a law that if you sign to G.O.O.D. Music that you are eventually supposed to sign to Def Jam. Anyways, here is what the Re-Up Gang leader had to say on the matter.

“Solidifying my first solo venture, G.O.O.D Music/DefJam is my home. That machine with my creativity is gonna make for satisfied hiphop fans,” said Pusha.

It’s not everyday that you come about an artist with more than just lyrical talent. Macklemore continuously brings a variety of different looks to the table. Enough of the praise for a minute here, and lets focus on this song. Just over a year ago, Macklemore and producer Ryan Lewis released an EP entitled, The VS. EP featuring the single, “Otherside”. The track details the intense and malicious drug use of Macklemore during his early late teens years and early 20s. Today, as Macklemore celebrates over three years of sobriety, the duo releases a dope ass video to accompany the track.

Sometimes it’s possible to classify hip-hop songs by seasons. For example, everyone associates People Under The Stairs’ classic jam “Acid Raindrops” with summer, Wu-Tang’s legendary raw and uncut C.R.E.A.M with winter. Determining the season of a song is directly related to the feeling you get from listening to it. While most songs can be easily categorized, others, like this one, can’t.

Being cool has its pros and its cons but taking three years to put out your debut LP is the definition of not playing by anyone’s rules. The Cool Kids laid back style may have some questioning their work ethic but there is an obvious method to the madness. Even without an album, Mikey Rocks and Chuck Inglish are two of the most marketable MCs in the game. With endorsements from Nike, Foot Locker, DC Shoes and a long list of other Fortune 500 co.’s, the Cool Kids have preserved their ethics by not bending to music label authorities while still being relevant in an ever changing music game.
