Today’s on fuck-off friday we’re featuring legendary hip-hop duo Black Star, a group comprised of MC’s Talib Kweli and Mos Def. While both of these MCs have had prosperous careers in their own right, it is pretty safe to say that each of their best work came on the groups lone release (despite rumor upon rumor that a follow-up was coming), Mos Def and Talib Kweli Are: Black Star. Anyways, I posts these songs today as an offereing to the Gods of Hip-Hop who smited me by forcing me to wait an hour and a half in line at my first Rock the Bells during which Talib Kweli made a guest appearance to do Black Star stuff with Mos Def.
First, we have the classic Black Star track, regarded by many to be one of the best hip-hop records of all time
Next, one that came on shuffle on my ipod this afternoon, another great one for sure.
Lastly, the only Black Star song I got to see live, this one will be stuck in your head for a while.
