Alright so I´ve had this list sitting around for almost 2 months now…but a few things happened to derail this post, mainly moving to Barcelona and getting my laptop stolen. Anyway, just like I did for 2010, I put together a list of what I thought were the 100 best hip hop songs of 2011. The top 5 was much harder to make than last years; you can pretty much flip those songs around in any order and make a good argument for those rankings, but since I had to choose, this is the order I came up with. The rest of the list was easy to make. Roscoe Dash should have won a grammy. That´s it.

Song – Artist – Album/Mixtape

100. All Black Everything – Lupe Fiasco – Lasers

99. No Church In The Wild – Jay-Z & Kanye West – Watch The Throne

98. Heartbeat – Childish Gambino – Camp

97. Roll Up – Wiz Khalifa – Rolling Papers

96. Monopoly – Danny Brown – XXX

95. Make Some Noise – Beastie Boys – Hot Sauce Committee Part Two

94. Stoner’s Night Pt. 2 (Featuring Wiz Khalifa) – Juicy J – Blue Dream & Lean

93. Ronald Regan Era (His Evils) – Kendrick Lamar – Section.80

92. Nobody’s Perfect (Featuring Missy Elliott) – J. Cole – Cole World: Sideline Story

91. Vent – Don Trip – Terminator 2

90. Lord Knows (Featuring Rick Ross) – Drake – Take Care

Whether you believe in this guy’s talent or not, this video should say something about the quality of his fans. While any artist can get their fans to send in videos, none can do it with the enthusiasm that MGK fans have. Also, what an amazing marketing scheme. The fact that up-and-coming artists don’t involve their fans in creative ways is a strain on their development.

Look Amber, when you get in the ring with Kanye West, you need to know the deal. The dude obviously has the capabilities to destroy someone emotionally, especially on a national level. No one is sitting here saying you deserved to be ridiculed by Kanye or any of his fans, but look Kanye is one of the most famous people in this country, and if you can’t handle the heat, well, settle for Wiz Khalifa.
